Frequently Asked Questions About Cable Processing

Can you recycle electrical cables?

Absolutely – most cables contain recyclable metals, some of which are relatively valuable (i.e. copper). Many cables are considered to be e-waste, so Maxilead Metals is capable of recycling them.

How much are scrap cables and wires worth?

The value of scrap cables and wires is determined by the type and amount of metal they contain, as well as the amount of work it will take to process that metal.

There is no fixed price for scrap metal, as it fluctuates depending on the demands of the market. To get the best possible rate for your cables, you may decide to carefully strip them down to the bare metal before recycling them.

Where can I recycle cables?

Maxilead Metals, based at Parr Bridge Works, Mosley Common Road, Tyldesley, Manchester, will accept any and all scrap cables for recycling.

Do you recycle industrial cables and wires?

Absolutely – we have a full complement of industrial cable processing equipment, all of which is suitable for the recycling of almost any type of wiring or cable.

If you wish to scrap a cable or wire that you feel may be particularly out of the ordinary, don’t hesitate to get in touch. The team at Maxilead will provide you with all the advice you’ll need.
