Why You Should Use an Accredited Metal Recycling Company
Why use an accredited metal recycling company? In the search for a scrap metal recycling company, there are a number of elements that will influence…
It is no secret that our family is passionate about horses and horse racing. Horse racing is not just a big part of our lives; it’s a big part of our business. We are always proud and delighted when our clients enquire about our horses and their progress, which has become an increasingly regular occurrence as our passion has developed and our race team has flourished. To celebrate this passion and our racing successes, we have customised a number of our modern vehicles with striking paintwork that displays our thoroughbred horses. The featured horses include Metal Soldier, Duchess Dora and Blythe Knight, who remains one of our most successful horses to date.
Maxilead Metals began racing horses professionally in 1995 and over the years we have owned around 30 race horses. We have also recently ventured into the breeding side with our mare Duchess Dora. Here are some of our current horses to follow:
5 y-o (Mastercraftsman – Fashion Trade)
Won at Chester last year and ran good races at York and Ayr. Possibility of him going hurdling and one to watch on the flat.
4 y-o (Dark Angel – Fag end)
5 y-o (Mastercraftsman – Teddy Bears Picnic)
2 y-o (Dutch Art – Duchess Dora)
First offspring of our star mare Duchess Dora. Due to run his first race in 2016, watch this space!
7 y-o (Scorpion – Gaza Strip)
Won over fences last May, one to watch.
10 y-o (Old Vic – Nightngale Express)
Currently off with injury. Great prospect who narrowly missed out on a run in the Grand National in 2015.

Our most successful racehorse to date. Won at both the Derby meeting and the Grand National meeting in the same year. Retired in 2009 after 4 glorious years of racing at the top level. Blythe Knight is truly irreplacable.
Winner of his debut race at Chester. Showed raw talent and could have been unstoppable,
sadly an injury ended his racing days.
Our globetrotting superstar. Very successful at 2, winning the Group 2 Superlative Stakes.
We bought Dora as a yearling and she went on to run 34 times, winning 7 and getting places in a further 13
She always provided a great day out for us, especially at her favourite track Chester, where she won twice. She now spends her time in Yorkshire as a broodmare and has produced 2 foals to date (Dutch Art and Bated Breath.)
