How Does Maxilead Export Metals?

If you’ve ever wondered just what happens to your scrap metal after it is sent off for recycling then look no further. This step-by-step guide will explain to you exactly what happens to your scrap metal after you bring it to us at Maxilead, and how exactly we then export it.

Our exporting process

Step one: come to have a chat with us and bring us your scrap metal

We begin our process right from the get-go, and that starts with you.

When you bring your scrap metal to us, we evaluate it on-site, give you a price and then take it off your hands. We then begin the process of getting your scrap metals ready for export before actually shipping them off.

Have you got scrap metal you need disposing of, why not bring it to us at mailed? We pride ourselves in offering competitive rates and first-class service, so get in touch today to get started.

Step two: we prep your scrap metal

Next is the technical stuff (incoming machinery-jargon), we use a range of state-of-the-art equipment to get your metal ready for recycling, our pre-export procedures include:

  • Magnetic segregation
  • Metal processing
  • Shearing
  • Baling
  • Cable granulation

If it sounds technical, it’s because it is. But worry not – we’re the experts here at Maxilead and we take care of all of this so you don’t have to. It’s actually incredibly easy to recycle your scrap metal and what more, it could end up in a completely different part of the world.

Step three: loading the scrap metal

Our container tilter is one of our newest pieces of equipment (and we love showing it off).

What this nifty piece of machinery does is pivot metal storage containers so that we’re maximising our space capacity, which in turns helps us reduce our carbon footprint and increase our turnaround times. All of this results in better prices for you, so we’re pretty proud of it.

This is a crucial part of our exporting process as it is the main task in the ‘loading up ready to go’ stage. At this point, your metal is almost ready for exportation.

Step four: exporting the scrap metal

Finally, we ship off our recycled metals to various locations all over the world.

Your metal can end up pretty much anywhere globally, from Europe to the Middle East or Southeast Asia to America – we export to the majority of the big players worldwide. We currently export around 5,000 tonnes of scrap metal per year to our international partners.

Why should you choose Maxilead for your international exporting?
